Paul is returning to the UK in May and I haven't renewed my contract so the kids and I will be back around the 7th July 2015. It is on our minds as it seems to be coming around quite quickly. We do have lots of plans and ideas so we will go with the flow.
I went out for my mid-week yogic wine with my friend who works in a school nearby. She has taught all over the world and many times gone back to Australia to attempt to re-settle but always finds it difficult and says this isn't uncommon.
I asked her what tips she would have for us when we go back to help with the transition. She advised us to keep having adventures and not to get back into too many familiar patterns and routines.
My friend has got a job as the Head of Primary at an International School in Mongolia. Mmmm Australia... Mongolia... Australia... Mongolia. She is having a meeting soon about which colour thermals to pack, I'd love to get out there to see her sometime. I enjoy dipping into a book by Eckhart Tolle called 'The Power of Now', there are lots of quotes out there so from a mindful/yoga perspective on change - “Realise deeply that the present moment is all you have. Make the NOW the primary focus of your life.”
