Sculpey is a type of polymer clay, a brilliant medium to craft and play with, similar to plasticine in texture. Easy, clean and melleable, it can be baked at low temperatures in a kitchen oven, so is perfect for home use. Great for children, especially big kids like my brother-in-law Ian, who is over from Oz featuring prominently in the Sculpey Workshop video below.
Who uses Sculpey?
According to Jake Corrick, a Sculpey specialist on YouTube:
'Sculpey is used by movie animation studios and professionals worldwide for prototypes, maquettes, and all kinds of dolls. Has a long track record as a superb clay for sculpting...'
Grandma Barbara uses it itoo and makes wonderful figurines from it out of her garage in Surrey. Enjoy her photos towards the end of the vid. Also included is a topical creation from my sister Kay from Think Purple Art Studios AU, she will be facilitating fun Sculpey workshops back in Oz later in the year, visit here for more info.
